Careers & Opportunities
in Global Trade There
are many opportunities for people who would like to work in the Global
Import Export Trading business. This includes the possibility of
learning "from scratch", like I did, and starting a completely new
career.
Even in times of great economic upheaval, goods and money still change hands. Sea containers are still loaded onto ships in the major ports of the world, day in and day out. For many sectors of industry, very little (or nothing at all) has changed. In some sectors there are more opportunities than ever, for people to earn money. Successful commission agents in the Import Export business are not facing hardship - they are experiencing growth! Every time goods / materials / products change hands, it is an opportunity for a commission agent to make money. Working up and down the supply chain, with Buyers and Sellers in many different sectors of industry, we are able to protect our incomes from the negative effects that have been impacting other types of businesses. It is certainly true that many of our clients, both Buyers and Sellers, have been hit in some way by the current crisis. However, that merely means that we as commission agents have even more opportunities. Why is that? It is because everyone is trying to do more with less. Companies cannot spend as much money as they once could, for in-house sales and procurement staff. They are quite content to work with a commission agent, who saves them both time and money, since typically only the Seller pays a commission (and only when sales are made). If you are an experienced commission agent, and you have contacts with Buyers and/or Sellers, please click here to learn about the current opportunities within iComTrader. If you do not have experience as a commission agent in global import export, please click here for information about an innovative training program for people with no trade experience. (Some general sales experience, ability or aptitude is vital - if you are afraid of contacting people or afraid of having people say "no", working as a commission agent is probably not your ideal career!) |
