How to Create & Manage Your Listings on iComTrader
Important Note
Before Starting:
We highly recommended that you have
all of the information in a text file that you can copy and paste into
the different fields, and have all of your photos ready. Also, be sure
that your log-in session is active before you start, and don't take too
much
time to fill out all of the information, because if your session
expires before you finish, you may lose everything that you are typing
in! (This depends on whether or not you have saved the first screen,
started a new listing by copying from another, etc. In these cases your
new listing will be found in the "Pending" folder, if your session
expires.)
Log in to your iComTrader Account. If you are not yet registered to iComTrader please see this page for instructions on how to register
When you log in you will be taken to the Member area. If you are already logged in and you are on another page, click on
"Members" to go to the Member area. To list an item click on "List Item" in the Selling Tools section
(middle section in the Black Menu bar that runs across the page). This will take you to the Listing Information where you can begin
entering information.
Note
- If you do not have a current Membership Package in place, you will
see this message:
"iComTrader

your text program to create it, then copy
and paste it into the description section. If you prefer, you can use
your own HTML editor to
create HTML and then copy into the "source" section of the HTML editor.
For ideas on what information you should include in your description, view some of the listings on the iComTrader site, and imagine what you would think if you were the prospective buyer and what questions you would have about the listings. Try to anticipate the buyers questions and include that information in your listings. Try to make your listings attractive, with information that will help sell your items. Section 3 - Quantity and Pricing Total Quantity

Save &
Continue
When you are
finished filling out all of the information click "save &
continue". If some information is missing you will not be able to do
this. Please double check all fields, since some of them do not save
automatically if you have to go back and correct something.
Page 2 Item Preview Here you can
review see how the information that you have entered will be shown once
the listing is live. Review it carefully. If you need to change
something you can go back and change it, but be sure to check all
fields, since some of them do not save automatically. Be sure to click
Save & Continue again, when you are finished.
When you are satisfied with the listing information in the Item Preview, scroll down the page to the uploads section:
Photo
& Document Upload
It
is very
important to upload at least 1 photo here. You
can upload several photos, but the first one will be the photo that is
shown next to the brief description in the category list (you can
change the "default" photo, to make any uploaded photo the main photo).
If you do
not have a photo of the item you can use a logo or other graphic.
Click on "Browse" to select the photo from your hard drive, then click "Upload Files" so that the photo will be uploaded.
Close Date and Fees
Select the ending date from the drop down list. You cannot go beyond the last date that is shown. If you want the auction to end at a specific time, choose it here, otherwise leave it as it is. The time that you select will be EST USA time (New York time).
Create New Listing -- Start
When you are
finished you can click "Start Listing Now". If you do not want to start
the listing you can navigate away from this page, and the listing will
be saved in your pending folder for 14 days. After that it will be
deleted from the system.
It is a good idea to save your listings as text files or html file on your own computer, just in case you accidentally delete a listing, or leave it "pending" for too long! |
