Important Note Before Starting: We highly recommended that you have all of the information in a text file that you can copy and paste into the different fields, and have all of your photos ready. Also, be sure that your log-in session is active before you start, and don't take too much time to fill out all of the information, because if your session expires before you finish, you may lose everything that you are typing in! (This depends on whether or not you have saved the first screen, started a new listing by copying from another, etc. In these cases your new listing will be found in the "Pending" folder, if your session expires.)

Log in to your iComTrader Account.

If you are not yet registered to iComTrader please see this page for instructions on how to register

When you log in you will be taken to the Member area. If you are already logged in and you are on another page, click on "Members" to go to the Member area. To list an item click on "List Item" in the Selling Tools section (middle section in the Black Menu bar that runs across the page). This will take you to the Listing Information where you can begin entering information.

Note - If you do not have a current Membership Package in place, you will see this message:

"iComTrader Membership Packages

On iComTrader, it is required to have an active iComTrader Membership Package.

Title - enter a title for your listing (at least the name and some basic information such as: PET Resin, Bottle Grade, FDA Approved)

Short Description - enter a short description for Twitter and Facebook (such as: PET Resin, Bottle Grade, FDA Approved, 50 MT, CFR Long Beach, USA)

Condition - choose from the drop down list (new, used, etc.)

Quality - choose from the drop down list (1st, 2nd, etc.)

Location - for the USA put the 5 digit zip code and it will display the location for you automatically

Location Display - outside of the USA please type the name of the city and country

Section 2 - Description

You can use the simple text editor that is included to set up your text, or you can use your text program to create it, then copy and paste it into the description section. If you prefer, you can use your own HTML editor to create HTML and then copy into the "source" section of the HTML editor.

For ideas on what information you should include in your description, view some of the listings on the iComTrader site, and imagine what you would think if you were the prospective buyer and what questions you would have about the listings. Try to anticipate the buyers questions and include that information in your listings. Try to make your listings attractive, with information that will help sell your items.

Section 3 - Quantity and Pricing

Total Quantity - type the number that corresponds to the quantity you are offering.

Please Select - select LB (pounds), KG (kilograms), MT (metric tons), Piece(s) or Other from the drop down list. If you select Other, please describe the quantity and what kind of unit of mesurement it is based on, in your description (no. 2 above) and give complete details so that the bidders will know exactly what they are bidding on.

SB - Starting Bid (you must enter a starting bid).

RES - Reserve Price (this is optional - if you enter a reserve price, the buyers can start bidding at the SB price, but the item will not be sold until the RES price is met).

BP - Buy Now Price (this is optional - if you enter a buy now price, the buyers can click to "Buy Now" and the first buyer to click that will close the bidding and be awarded the bid for that item - must be higher than the SB and also the RES, if you have one).

Note - you can have SB, RES & BP, or any combination of those, but you must ALWAYS have at least SB.

PT (Price Type) - select LB (pounds), KG (kilograms), MT (metric tons), Piece(s) or Other from the drop down list. If you select Other, please describe the Price Type in your description (no. 2 above) and give complete details so that the bidders will know exactly what they are bidding on.

PB (Price Basis) - select EXW (ex-works), FCA (free carrier), FAS (free alongside ship), FOB (free on board), CFR (cost & freight), CIF (cost, insurance & freight), DDP (delivered duty paid), DDU (delivered duty unpaid).

Note - most listings will be EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF.

Section 4 - Payment Terms

Select the payment terms from the drop down list:

L/C at sight (Letter of Credit at sight)
L/C 60 days (Letter of Credit 60 days)

Prepaid
Other

Additional Payment Information - if you selected "Other" from the drop down list, or if you want to communicate something special to potential buyers about payment terms, please enter text in this field. It is an HTML editor like the one under Description, so you have many choices of text formatting.

Section 5 - Shipping Terms & Information

Delivery Origin - put the country of origin for the goods and the city/town where they are shipping from. (If the goods are shipping from a reseller in a different country, it is a good idea to put delivery origin as the place it is shipping from, and in the description you should explain the original country of origin.)

Delivery To - put the country and port where the goods will be shipped to. (If you are offering the goods Ex-Works or FOB, put the town/port where the goods are available for loading.)

Delivery Type - select from drop down list:

Factory

POD (port of discharge)
AIR

Additonal Shipping Information - if you have other information regarding the shipping that you want the buyer to know about, please enter it in this field. This has an HTML editor, so you have many choices of text formatting.

Section 6 - Optional Settings

Private Auctions - if you wish to make the auction private, click the box. Private auctions are not shown in the category listings, but they do show on the seller's iComTrader page. The names of the bidders are hidden, so they cannot see who else is bidding. The seller's account will be charged $25 automatically by the software that runs the site.

Section 7 - Enhancements

Main Page Featured Auctions - if you want the auction featured on the main page click this box. The seller's account will be charged $10 automatically by the software that runs the site.

Category List Featured Auctions - if you want the auction featured on the Listings page where the categories are shown, click this box. The seller's account will be charged $10 automatically by the software that runs the site.

Save & Continue

When you are finished filling out all of the information click "save & continue". If some information is missing you will not be able to do this. Please double check all fields, since some of them do not save automatically if you have to go back and correct something.

Page 2
Item Preview

Here you can review see how the information that you have entered will be shown once the listing is live. Review it carefully. If you need to change something you can go back and change it, but be sure to check all fields, since some of them do not save automatically. Be sure to click Save & Continue again, when you are finished.

When you are satisfied with the listing information in the Item Preview, scroll down the page to the uploads section:

Photo & Document Upload

It is very important to upload at least 1 photo here. You can upload several photos, but the first one will be the photo that is shown next to the brief description in the category list (you can change the "default" photo, to make any uploaded photo the main photo). If you do not have a photo of the item you can use a logo or other graphic.

Click on "Browse" to select the photo from your hard drive, then click "Upload Files" so that the photo will be uploaded.

Close Date and Fees

Select the ending date from the drop down list. You cannot go beyond the last date that is shown. If you want the auction to end at a specific time, choose it here, otherwise leave it as it is. The time that you select will be EST USA time (New York time).
Create New Listing -- Start

When you are finished you can click "Start Listing Now". If you do not want to start the listing you can navigate away from this page, and the listing will be saved in your pending folder for 14 days. After that it will be deleted from the system.

It is a good idea to save your listings as text files or html file on your own computer, just in case you accidentally delete a listing, or leave it "pending" for too long!
